The geographic information system project granted to GEOMAP contains two items:
- Visual tracker: On the internet one can visualise in real time (t + 5 seconds) the railway traffic on Canada, United States and Mexico’s network. Visual tracker is used to visualize through MapGuide the geographical position on all of the Common Track Network. It enables anyone to double click on a train or any other equipment or heritage to obtain information. Only the information defined within the user’s rights can be edited and modified. The user has the choice between Web ergonomics to research alphanumeric data before accessing the map or he can navigate freely on the mapping with the GIS tools.
- Data Maintenance Tool (DTM): Substructure and the technical heritage management of the organisation on its own network. The transmission channel block diagram with all of its substructure technical equipment. This tool allows one to visualize the train in the substructure. The view is always centered on the train and the synoptic moves
